A few months ago I was asked to review a back rack.
You might remember this: Review – Westfalia bike rack
I think it is fair to say that the product was up against it as I have never really cared much for bike racks and having my bicycle exposed to the elements in that way. Also perhaps because my experience with them come from the eighties when some were rather wonky.
I’ve therefore always preferred stowing my bicycle on the back seat of my car or in the boot (when it would fit). However, depending on how many passengers and luggage I carted along, the practical side to stowing could turn into a real nightmare.
To get to the point: I did the review, fell in love with the concept (of these modern products and their ease of use) and purchased the demo model without flinching.
Now, several months later, I can honestly tell you that carting bikes around on the vehicle’s exterior rather than interior have become a no-brainer – even when my SUV offers loads of space.
Happy days.
