The Desert Dash ultra-endurance mountain-bike race started in Windhoek, Namibia, on Friday evening and finished in Swakopmund with a 24-hour cut-off time. Riders started at altitude and traversed the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert, throughout the night, before finishing down on the coast.
