CT Cycle Tour entries: Join #TEAMSPCA to ride for the animals

November 9, 2018, 3:21 pm By In the Bunch Staff reporter

Cape Town Cycle Tour entrants who sign up to ride the 2019 race for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA will give rescue animals a second chance at life.

Each cyclist who rides for #TEAMSPCA will empower the society to continue their work of preventing animal cruelty and finding homes for those animals in need.

SPCA challenge fundraiser Natasha Johannes said it was as simple as pledging to raise a minimum of R1 000.

She added that the pledge would cover the participant’s entry fee and include a high-quality cycling shirt sponsored by Bayer and Ultra Dog, as well as some exclusive extras.

“Most importantly,” said Johannes, “the sweat and tears will be worth the pain when you know you’re making a difference.”

Apart from a true sense of reward, she added that the top fundraiser would win a Stryker Ryde road bike donated by Titan Racing, “so everyone wins”.

Riders who have already entered can contact the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, who will transfer their entry to #TEAMSPCA.

“By racing for this team, you will join a special family whose efforts give rescue animals a second chance,” said Johannes.

“Whether you are an easy breezy biker or a tour de force rider, the SPCA invites you to be the change in an animal’s life by taking up the challenge.

“Do not miss the opportunity to compete in the world’s most iconic road race for the love of animals.”

The race takes place on March 10 next year and the society will be at the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo from March 7 to 9.
