Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel won a double gold after soloing to victory in the junior men’s road race at the UCI Road World Championships in Innsbruck, Austria, today.
Evenepoel also claimed the gold in the junior men’s individual time-trial on Tuesday.
He completed the 132.4km race in 3:03:49, beating Germany’s Marius Mayrhofer by just about a minute-and-a-half. Italy’s Alessandro Fancellu rounded out the podium another 13 seconds later.

Both South Africans – Rickardo Broxham and Cian Leveridge – did not finish the race.
